INCOSE Northstar: Meeting and Technical Presentation

March 7 @ 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm

What is Building Commissioning? — Why do building owners/operators pay for it?

Have you ever heard of Building Commissioning?  Come join us for a looking into what it takes to complete a Building Commissioning and why you should care!  We are honored to have Rebecca Ellis, PE, a nationally recognized leader in the building commissioning industry as our meeting presenter this month.  Ms. Ellis will open our eyes to an area of Systems Engineering that a number of us do not have much experience in, Building Commissioning.

Most commissioning professionals use some type of tabular list to document and track resolution of deficiencies with, questions about, and/or differing opinions regarding building systems operation.  The list is often called the commissioning action list (CAL).  The primary goal of design and construction phase commissioning planning and preparation is to minimize the number of items that end up on the CAL as a result of acceptance phase functional performance testing.

Ms. Ellis will share with us some of the most common building systems deficiencies on the CAL and typical methodologies used to resolve these deficiencies.
